Figs of the Adriatic type are a heavy producer of medium-sized, bell-shaped fruit with green/yellow skin and deep red flesh that is rich and sugary. The tree has a round top and spreads up to 5m, with deep lobed green leaves. It grows to be 3m x 5m in size and does not require pollination as the fruit contains the flower inside. The best time to harvest the fruit is in April, when the ripest figs begin to fall or when birds start to eat them.
