Soursop plant

Soursop, also known as guanábana or graviola, originates from South America. It typically grows into a medium-sized tree, with beautiful lush, dark green leaves. Similar to its cherimoya relatives, soursop trees tend to be momentarily deciduous in early spring.

The fruit of the soursop tree boasts a complex flavor profile, described as delicious and reminiscent of a blend of strawberries, apples, and sour citrus, with a creamy texture akin to bananas.

Soursop trees are self-fertile but tend to fare better when planted alongside a companion.

Soursop trees thrive best when planted in full sun. They dislike having wet, cold roots, so make sure they are planted in free draining soil. It's advisable to grow soursop trees in a greenhouse. They prefer temperatures above 5 degrees Celsius, and are not as cold hardy as cherimoya.
