The Williams Cavendish banana is one of the larger growing Cavendish types available in New Zealand. The bananas produces on the Williams are larger than the dwarf Cavendish types, and are rich and creamy. While Williams Cavendish is produced commercially, and its possible you have eaten these from the supermarket labeled as Cavendish, in New Zealand climate the bananas don't grow quite as big, however they are more creamy and flavourful.
The tree generally grows to around 3 meters in height, and is easily managed. This variety does need propping due to the large bunches produced.
