The Sugar Dragon is one of the most sought-after varieties of dragon fruit due to its outstanding characteristics. It has thick, meaty growth; is self-fertile; and produces an abundance of pollen that can be used on almost all other dragon fruit varieties. The fruit is a premium variety distinguished by its incredibly high sugar content (often 18+ Brix) and striking deep pink flesh. It is celebrated as one of the best-tasting dragon fruits available, offering a complex and sophisticated flavor profile that combines the tastes of raspberry, lychee, coconut, and kiwi, all complemented by subtle floral notes. The 'Sugar Dragon' is a legendary pollinator, famous for its abundant, viable pollen. It is highly recommended for successfully cross-pollinating most other self-sterile varieties, especially popular red-fleshed types and any other self-sterile variety that needs external pollen to set a good crop. This vigorous, thick-stemmed, self-fertile variety is typically one of the first to bloom, extending your pollination window. By simply using the 'Sugar Dragon' pollen to hand-pollinate your self-sterile varieties, you can stop those beautiful flowers from dropping off, ensure successful fruit development, and maximize your overall yield.

Propagated from a fruiting mother plant, this cutting is well rooted and ready to establish quickly. In ideal conditions, it will start fruiting for you within 1–2 years.
