Dragonfruit - Red (Rooted in a pot)

All our dragon fruit cuttings come from mature fruiting plants. Normally, dragon fruit grown from seeds takes 5-7+ years to bear fruit, whereas when grown from mature fruiting plants, it will only take one to two years.

This dragon fruit variety features vibrant red flesh adorned with edible black seeds, resembling those found in kiwi fruit. The taste is a delightful blend of kiwi and pear with a slight crunchiness. Rich in natural antioxidants, particularly betalains, dragon fruit offers not only a unique flavor but also health benefits.

Dragon fruit is closely related to orchid cacti, such as epiphyllum, known for their large and impressive flowers. To nurture this plant, it's important to provide regular feeding during the growing season using a garden booster. However, avoid feeding during the winter months. Plant dragon fruit in full sun and ensure protection from frosts to promote healthy growth and fruit production. 

Most Red dragonfruit need pollen from another variety to fruit (not self-fertile). Use pollen from compatible white/yellow varieties or our pre-matched pairs for easy pollination.
