The Miracle fruit, while not sweet itself, possesses a unique ability to modify taste perception. When consumed, it coats the mouth, causing sour foods to taste sweet for a period of time. Remarkably, it selectively eliminates acidity without altering the natural aromas or other flavors of the food. This property makes it useful for masking the bitterness of medicines. This slow-growing plant is well-suited for container cultivation, allowing for easy relocation to warmer environments during cooler seasons. 

Needs acidic soil and is intolerant to alkaline conditions.
