Wonderful is the most popular pomegranate variety grown in New Zealand, and is fruits very well in our weather conditions here. It produces juicy, sweet pomegranates that are great for eating fresh. They are very high in antioxidants and other vitamins and minerals.
Wonderful is a self-fertile variety that ripens late summer to early autumn. Plant in a sheltered, sunny position where soils are fertile and free-draining.
The tree grows to around 3 meters in height, but can be kept smaller by a light prune every year or 2.
