Cinnamon plant

The cinnamon plant, also known as Cinnamomum verum or Ceylon cinnamon, is a small evergreen tree that is native to Sri Lanka and Southern India. It belongs to the Lauraceae family and is widely cultivated for its inner bark, which is used as a spice in both sweet and savory dishes. The bark of the cinnamon tree is harvested by peeling off the outer bark to expose the inner bark, which is then dried and rolled into cinnamon sticks, or ground into cinnamon powder.
