Dragonfruit Yellow - Rooted in a pot (Hylocereus megalanthus)

This is a well rooted cutting from a mature, fruiting yellow dragonfruit plant, which produces white fleshed, yellow skinned fruit. The fruit quality is superior to any you may have tried in the supermarket, and is by far the best I have ever tasted personally.

Given that these plants are produced by cuttings from an already producing mother plant, these will start fruiting within 1-2 years. They grow very rapidly when the weather is warm. Seed grown usually take 5-7 years and grow very slowly.

Yellow dragonfruit are absolutely delicious. They are the sweetest of all the colours, and very easy to eat by slicing it in half, and spooning out the flesh with a spoon, similar to how youd eat a kiwifruit.

Dragonfruit are easily grown outdoors in Auckland and Northland, and can be grown under the eaves of a house in other warmer parts of the North Island. They can be grown in pots or containers. This species of dragonfruit is self fertile, so the perfect type for the beginner grower of dragonfruit.
