Sara is a new variety of starfruit bred in Northland, known for its rich taste, vibrant exterior, succulent interior, and minimal seed content. This prolific cultivar features a graceful, drooping growth pattern and abundant pink blossoms. Its a self-pollinating variety.
Young trees have delicate foliage, and our potted plants may lose older leaves, turning yellow during transport to conserve energy. This is not a long-term issue; with care and acclimatization, they will recover.
Mature trees can tolerate light frosts but require warm, sheltered conditions. Prolonged temperatures below -1°C can be lethal. These trees flourish in full sunlight and well-drained soil. Moderate watering is ideal, but avoid waterlogged conditions, especially during flowering. To protect them from harsh weather, plant them in a sheltered location and fertilize 4-5 times annually.
