Cedar Bay cherries are native to Northern Australia, and produce masses of very tasty cherry-like fruit. They are sweet and have a flavour which is described as berry, grape and cherry.

The tree is frost tender, especially when young. They can survive temperatures to 0, so should be planted in a sheltered protected, sunny position if planting outside. Alternatively, they grow very well in pots, and this would be the recommended method in our climate. Like all fruit trees, they like well draining soil. It is a shrub-like tree, so its easy to keep it pruned to a nice, easy to manage size.

Our plants are 2 years old, and in good conditions, Cedar Bay cherry trees will begin fruiting after 3 years.

Cedar Bay Cherry and Exceptional Rare Plants

I'm really impressed with the Cedar Bay Cherry, so much so, I have just purchased another. Didn't ever think I would even be able to purchase this Australian Gem. I must also make note of the Quality of Flying Dragons seedlings and the vast range of Rare, Sub Tropical and Tropical plants, very impressive. The plants always arrive well packed and in such pristine condition. Lastly Í Think Flying Dragon has New Zealand's best and largest Citrus Collection, a must for any serious collector.
