Cherimoya - Jack - Grafted

Proudly developed in Northland and released into the market by our nursery, this remarkable cherimoya combines the creamy, delicate sweetness of cherimoya, with the satisfying texture of jackfruit, creating an unforgettable eating experience. With fewer seeds and a perfect balance of flavors, Jack has quickly become one of our favourites here at the nursery. The name “Jack” is derived from Jackfruit, having a similarity in the fruit texture, with capsules or pods of flesh surrounding the seed. 

Cherimoya Trees thrive in New Zealand’s temperate climate, and prefer a sunny, sheltered spot with well-draining soil. Keep the soil consistently moist by mulching, especially during dry spells, but be careful to avoid waterlogging. A balanced fertiliser during spring and summer will help promote healthy growth and abundant fruit. Light pruning can help maintain its shape and encourage better fruit production, while frost cloth is recommended to protect young trees in cooler regions during winter. Mulching benefits cherimoya trees immensely, keeping the soil temperature regulated, retaining moisture, and keeping weeds and competition down.
