Abiu plant

The abiu, a luscious fruit known for its smooth, vibrant yellow exterior and sweet, translucent flesh, offers a delectable flavor reminiscent of creme caramel. Abiu plant thrives in tropical and subtropical climates and is typically grown from seedlings, reaching a height of 2-5 meters under favorable conditions. It's self-pollinating, so only one plant is needed for pollination, but it's not frost-tolerant and prefers temperatures above 5 degrees Celsius. It is highly recommended to grow it in a greenhouse or sunroom in the New Zealand climate. With evergreen leaves, it retains its foliage throughout the year and requires moderate watering.
