Dragonfruit - Frankie’s Red (Grafted)

Frankie’s Red has narrow, dark green stems with three-sided growth and small, thick spines. The fruit is similar in shape and size to the Columbiana variety, ripening from green to yellow to a vibrant orange. When fully mature, the flesh is a striking red with white highlights at its center. Known for its exceptional sweetness, the fruit has a delightful lemonade-like flavor with a hint of berry and boasts a high Brix rating of 21. Native to Hawaii, this variety is self-fertile, ensuring reliable fruit set.

This variety thrives in mild, balanced climates and is sensitive to extreme temperatures. We recommend growing it in a greenhouse or a sunny, warm, but not overly wet location, as excessive moisture can promote rust.

Current stock: Grafted onto White Undatus dragonfruit, a very resilient and robust rootstock, ideal for our New Zealand climate!
