Fig - Pastilière

The Pastilière fig, also known as Rouge de Bordeaux, is a French heirloom variety prized for its rich, sweet flavour and reliable cropping. The fruit is medium to large with dark purple, almost black skin and a sweet, deep red flesh.

This self-fertile variety produces a single, early crop, ripening from late summer through into autumn. The tree has a naturally compact, bushy habit, making it well suited to smaller gardens and container growing.

Pastilière is valued for its cold hardiness, tolerating temperatures down to around -15°C, and performs best in full sun with well-drained soil.
