Fig - Ventura

Ventura produces  large, green skinned, pink/red fleshed figs. The flesh is juicy and sweet, with a strawberry jam flavour, with a touch of honey.

The main season for this variety is in the middle of the fig season, late summer-autumn. Ventura also produces breba crops, which are smaller, early season crops, usually ripening around December.

Ventura's growth habit is compact, and slightly smaller growing that most of the other common varieties found in New Zealand. The fully grown tree size at maturity is around 3m high, and 2-3m wide (when grown in ground). They are suitable for cooler climates, and are deciduous.

Self fertile.
