Banana - Golden Lotus

The golden lotus banana (Musella lasiocarpa), or Chinese dwarf banana, is a striking ornamental plant native to the Yunnan mountains of China. Growing up to 1.5 meters, it features broad, bluish-green leaves and a large, yellow, lotus-like flower that can last months, adding unique beauty to any garden. Though its fruits aren’t edible, the plant’s rhizome can be used as a vegetable, and its flowers aid in honey production or wine fermentation. Cold-hardy and deciduous in winter. Keep the plant drier during the winter, but ensure ample watering during the growing season.
