Natal plum

Natal plum is a medium-sized shrub often used for hedging or as ground cover. It can flower and fruit throughout the year, producing bright white flowers with five narrow petals and a delightful fragrance. Subtropical by nature, mature plants can withstand temperatures down to-2C, though young plants should be protected from severe frosts. Adaptable to a variety of soil types and moisture conditions, Natal plum can tolerate short periods of drought but does not survive waterlogged soil. It thrives best in full sun but can also grow well in light shade.
