Passionfruit - Sweet Alata

Sweet Alata passionfruit (Passiflora alata), also known as Maracuya Doce, is a medium-to-large oval fruit from Brazil with a thick, smooth rind that turns dark yellow when ripe. Inside, it has white arils encased in a sweet, tangy yellow pulp. The fruits are enjoyed fresh, with the juice used in desserts, beverages, and sauces. Alata passionfruit plants produce stunning, fragrant purple flowers, and though they grow worldwide, they’re primarily cultivated in Brazil. Nutritionally, they’re rich in potassium, vitamins A and C, and antioxidants.
