Wampee

Wampee is an attractive evergreen tree that produces clusters of highly aromatic, grape-like fruit. It's relatively hardy for a subtropical tree and can tolerate light frosts once matured. The fruit turns yellow when ripe and should be left on the tree as long as possible for increased sweetness. Pruning should be minimal since fruit grows only on the tips of branches.

In the right conditions, Wampee can grow up to 8 meters and forms a dense canopy, providing good shelter. It thrives in sunny, well-drained locations with ample water and organic matter. Protection from frost and wind is essential, and the tree should not have wet, cold roots.

They will bear fruit in 5 to 8 years, usually from seeds.
